Tyson Fury says he’s ready to place a blockbuster battle Anthony Joshua to one side, in case the former heavyweight winner is unable to recover his straps at a rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr..
Pave the way for his world heavyweight rematch with Deontay Wilder and fury is currently hoping to produce light work of Otto Wallin on Saturday, however, is already thinking past that to a possible unification bout.
Joshua is confident of getting revenge when the pair meet in Saudi Arabia on December 7, now live on Sky Sports Box Office after suffering his first professional defeat at the hands of Ruiz Jr in June, but Fury is well prepared to face either fighter.
“When he (Anthony Joshua) goes in there and gets hauled back outside by Ruiz, then fair play to Ruiz. Who cares? You know, I fight with Ruiz. One hundred percent.
“I’m not concerned because what happens in life happens and we can not change it anyway. So, with each negative, there’s a positive.”
Discussing about this weekend’s competition Wallin, Fury included:”It’s a different challenge, distinct opponent, different style and fashions do create struggles.
“This guy’s 6’6”, left-handed southpaw. It is probably going to be a challenge that is different. Every battle differs, not all fights, 1 fight, is the exact same.
“We approach every battle (using a) different game program, but when we are in there for the first minute or so, I’ll know just what to do with Otto Wallin.”
Wallin will be still hoping to spring a surprise consequence and is seeking to Ruiz for inspiration.
“Just look at the other fights such as Andy Ruiz-Joshua. Mike Tyson, he wasn’t supposed to have beat. He got defeat from Buster Douglas.
“We had a Swedish guy, Ingemar Johansson, sixty years back he came to New York and beat Floyd Patterson. He was a enormous underdog and he beat on him. It may happen at any moment. So tune in and don’t blink.”
Saturday morning at 2am, live on Sky Sports Action – Devin Haney vs Zaur Abdullaev, Heather Hardy vs Amanda Serrano, Michael Hunter vs Sergey Kuzmin.
