Juan Manuel Correa in ‘critical but stable’ condition after F2 crash

Juan Manuel Correa is in a’critical but stable’ condition in hospital after complications arising from his accident at last weekend F2 race .
The 20-year-old’s parents issued a statement saying their child was in an induced coma and beneath ECMO support at hospital in London.
“In his arrival into London, Juan Manuel was diagnosed with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. That is an accident considered common in large impact accidents like this one,” read a statement.
“Regrettably, this injury led to Juan Manuel falling to Severe Respiratory Failure. Juan Manuel is in an Intensive Care Unit that specializes in injuries.
“At this time period he is an in induced state of unconsciousness and under ECMO support. Juan Manuel is in critical but stable condition.
“We’re confident that our child will surprise us like he always does with his enormous fighting will and strength and will recover fully.”
The family asked for their privacy to be admired.
Correa suffered injuries after an accident at the contain race at Spa to back and his legs. Fellow driver Anthoine Hubert died following injuries.
“Maria and I wish to have this chance to give our condolences to the Hubert family for their loss,” said Juan Carlos Correa. “Our hearts are broken, and we can just imagine the pain this loss has brought them.”
Prior to being transfered into Britain on 22, correa underwent surgery following the injury on his own injuries in hospital at Liege, Belgium.
F2 yields this weekend in Italy, together using Briton Callum Illott carrying a maiden pole for Saturday’s feature race.
“I am really happy that we turned that negative energy from each weekend into a favorable outcome, and doing it for Anthoine, for Juan, and also for both their own families,” explained Illott, 20.
“I think everyone as a whole, heading back out as a F2 grid and putting to a fantastic result, with nothing terrible after last weekend, was a very excellent achievement by everyone.
“To develop, still be positive and keep moving is incredible I presume.”
